As many of you know, April is Autism Acceptance Month (formerly known as Autism Awareness Month). Having spent more than two decades dedicated to serving families affected by autism and other developmental challenges, as April comes to a close, it is a time for me to reflect on the many families I have been privileged to help in their journey to ensure their children receive the best possible education, despite the challenges that an autism diagnosis can cause. I feel incredibly fortunate that my work as an attorney and advocate for the autism community enables me to witness firsthand the impact of educational empowerment – creating the environments and customized educational plans to enable students with autism to excel.
My goal is to inspire families whose children have special needs with confidence as they navigate the educational system and ensure that all special needs students have the best opportunity to realize their full and extraordinary potential.
Thank you to all, Sandy
