The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Service (OSERS) has issued two new Q&As regarding student’s return to school during the COVID 19 pandemic:

With the release of these documents, OSERS has completed its Return to School Roadmap Q&A series. According to the office, the documents “demonstrate the Department’s continued commitment to support States to ensure they have the information necessary to carry out these important requirements and to make good use of the additional American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds to ensure the full implementation of IDEA requirements.”

Both new Q&As discuss the handling of early intervention services for infants and toddlers with disabilities. The first addresses that state agencies are responsible for identifying and evaluating children with disabilities who may require early intervention. The second outlines the provision of early intervention for infants and toddlers with disabilities under Part C of IDEA.

You can read the other Return to School Roadmap Q&As here, under the “OSERS COVID 19 Resources” section.
